Reflexology for Women's Health

Reflexology for balancing hormones

By stimulating specific points linked to the endocrine system, ovaries, and uterus, reflexology for balancing hormones can help influence the production and release of hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and oxytocin. These hormones play a crucial role in regulating the menstrual cycle, ovulation and overall reproductive health.

Hormonal imbalances can lead to a variety of menstrual issues, including irregular periods and PMS symptoms,Reflexology helps to balance your hormones by:

  • Promoting blood flow: Gentle pressure on reflex points can increase blood circulation to the reproductive organs, potentially aiding in hormone regulation and delivery.
  • Stimulating the nervous system: The parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for relaxation and stress reduction, can be stimulated through reflexology. This can help counteract the negative effects of stress hormones on the menstrual cycle.
  • Releasing endorphins: The feel-good hormones released during reflexology sessions can not only improve mood but also potentially influence the hormonal balance.
  • Easing PMS symptoms: By reducing stress and promoting relaxation, reflexology can potentially alleviate symptoms like cramps, mood swings, and bloating.

After having my second child, my hormones went crazy. Kathryn told me how reflexology can help extend the days between my periods. I was a little skeptical at first, but after having reflexology on a weekly basis the gap between my periods went from 17 days to 26. It has been life changing!

Reflexology for Pregnancy

The 9 months of pregnancy will put your body through intense physical changes and reflexology can help mothers-to-be stay comfortable during this time. It can also help a variety of issues including morning sickness, insomnia, dizziness, aches & pains, anxiety, tiredness and constipation.

I absolutely love helping bumps become babies . It's great to have reflexology throughout your pregnancy, however, if you can only come from 36 weeks it can be used as an excellent tool to help relax and support your body in preparation for labour.

If you've gone over your due date and you haven't had any reflexology until then, it's still worth getting in touch. I've seen some mothers recently who've only started reflexology once their due date has passed. Please get in touch to see if I can help you too.

I'm based in central Royal Tunbridge Wells and have parking on my drive or outside my house so the BiG TOE reflexology for pregnancy is easily accessible!

Lovely, relaxing reflexology session from Kathryn. She was so helpful and informative, before, during and after the session. Got given a session as a gift for pregnancy and would highly recommend if looking for reflexology in your last couple of weeks, or just for general relaxation.

Fiona Owens, , the BIG TOE reflexology client

I saw Kathryn weekly towards the end of my pregnancy to help with relaxation to prepare for labour and sleep - after the first session I was sleeping through the night again! Kathryn is kind, caring and passionate about reflexology and women’s health. I would recommend Kathryn to everyone!

Home reflexology in Tunbridge Wells for new mums

Two-parents-holding-their-new-born-baby-lovingly-from-head-and-from-feet

Why is reflexology for new parents so important?

With a new baby it's sometimes hard to leave the house, let alone put your own health, wellbeing and recovery first. Home reflexology takes place where it's easiest for you and offers you an hour to rest and restore. New mum reflexology works on both a physical and emotional level. It can help you relax, recover and heal. If you give me an hour, I’ll help you reset and recharge for the days and weeks ahead. It will help you be at your best for you and your family

How far will the BiG TOE reflexology travel to see me?

I can travel up to a 10 mile radius of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent for home reflexology. Please email kathryn@thebigtoe.co.uk or call 07867 535674 to book your session.

What do I need to do to prepare for my reflexology session?

Absolutely nothing! I will bring the lafuma chair, for you to lie in, plus towels to keep your feet warm and a foot bath. All you need to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the reflexology. Looking at your baby will release oxytocin, the feel good love drug, so they can happily lie on you and feed or sleep at the same time. If they get wriggly we can always pause the session until they (and most importantly you) are comfortable and ready.

How long will my reflexology session last?

For the home reflexology, I will be with you for about an hour. Most importantly,  it's your time. New mum reflexology is all about you. You can talk as much or as little as you like. You can still be in your PJs or you can be dressed. I just need easy access to your feet and shins.
