Client:
My client is in his 60s, has two adult children and cares for his grandchild weekly.
Background:
A car accident over a decade ago left him with lasting injuries, including arthritis in his ankle, hip, and lower back. The accident significantly impacted his mobility and caused chronic pain. Prior to our sessions, he reported significant anger and frustration due to the constant pain, which severely disrupted his sleep. He had previously relied heavily on morphine for pain relief but discontinued its use.
Initial Assessment:
During our first session, he presented with extremely tense feet and a notably hard pancreas reflex. The pancreas reflex is often associated with an overall love of life and the ability to find inner balance. A hard pancreas reflex can suggest a diminished sense of life's sweetness, which aligns with the challenges my client has faced.
Treatment Approach:
The primary focus of the session was to address his sleep issues and alleviate his pain and emotional distress. Reflexology techniques were employed to:
Initial Outcomes:
He reported significant positive changes following the first session. He experienced a remarkably long and restful sleep (10 pm to 3 am), which was a significant improvement for him. While the quality of his sleep diminished slightly over the following week, he reported feeling calmer and more relaxed overall. Although the pain persisted, he described it as more manageable.
Recommendations:
Weekly sessions were recommended to further assess the effectiveness of reflexology in improving his sleep, reducing pain and managing his emotional distress. As the weeks continued his sleep improved considerably and the pain became more manageable when he was having regular sessions.

Client:
My client experienced two miscarriages before the successful birth of her daughter. Sadly, she subsequently suffered two further miscarriages. Following the most recent miscarriage, she began receiving regular reflexology treatments.
Concurrent Care:
The client was also under the care of a specialist hospital in London and a nutritional clinic in Tunbridge Wells for dietary support.
Initial Assessment:
Treatment Approach:
Initial Outcomes:
After weekly reflexology sessions spanning 3 months, I was beyond excited to hear my client had a positive pregnancy test. Such a wonderful start to her next chapter.

Client:
This client experienced significant trauma during her first pregnancy and delivery. Her son required immediate resuscitation after birth, and both mother and child spent a week in the hospital due to an infection.
Subsequent Pregnancy Loss:
Within three months of trying to conceive again, the client became pregnant. However, at 20 weeks gestation, it was discovered that the foetus had a severe brain abnormality incompatible with life. The couple then made the incredibly difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy.
Challenges to Conception:
Following this devastating loss, the client and her partner were actively trying to conceive for over a year with no success.
Initial Assessment:
Despite appearing composed during the initial consultation, the client exhibited signs of deep emotional suppression.
Treatment Approach:
Outcome: Amazingly, the next time I saw my brave client she told me she was pregnant! I really believe being able to shift the trauma she'd been holding onto was a huge part of her journey. She continued to have reflexology throughout her pregnancy and gave birth to a gorgeous boy.
